Active Campaign

In this article, we’ll see how to integrate Active Campaign into Retainful.

You can integrate ActiveCampaign into your Retainful account to automatically transfer the email addresses captured by Retainful into your ActiveCampaign list.

Note: This integration feature is exclusively available in all our paid plans.

Things you need before integrating

1. ActiveCampaign account

2. A mailing list in ActiveCampaign

Integrating with ActiveCampaign

Step 1: Navigate to your Retainful dashboard -> Integrations -> ActiveCampaign

Click ‘Connect’, this will prompt a popup, where you’ve to enter the API key.

Once the menu is prompted after clicking it.

Step 2: You have to enter the API key and the URL of ActiveCampaign in the following menu.

Enter the Active Campaign API Key & URL and click Connect.

3. You can click ‘Find your credentials here’ which will redirect you to Active Campaign, where you can retrieve your Key.

After successfully integrating Retainful with Active Campaign, you can start setting up automation to engage with your customers. Follow these steps:

Step 3: Set Up Automation Blocks

1. Navigate to the Automation section in Retainful.

2. Choose any of the automation you want to integrate with Active Campaign to add customers to your Active Campaign list, then click Edit Flow.

3. It will take you to the automation workflow.

Select Add Block after the first email and choose Integration. Although you can set the integration at any stage, we recommend doing it after the first email.

Here’s why: If the block is added post-trigger, all customers, including those who might recover their carts within an hour, are added to the list. So, placing the block after the first email ensures that even customers who’ve still abandoned their carts will get into the list.

4. Click on the Integration block and choose Active Campaign to configure.

5. Select the Active Campaign list where you want to add your customers.

6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: Only one list can be added per block. If you need to add another list, you will need to create another block and add the list there.

That’s it, you’re done, you’ve successfully integrated Retainful with your ActiveCampaign account.
