In this article, we’ll see how to integrate MailChimp into Retainful.

You can integrate Mailchimp into your Retainful account to automatically transfer the email addresses captured by Retainful into your Mailchimp list.

Things you need before integrating,

1. A Mailchimp account

2. A mailing list in Mailchimp

Integrating with Mailchimp

Step 1: Navigate to your Retainful dashboard -> Integrations -> MailChimp

Click ‘Connect’, this will prompt a popup, where you’ve to enter the API key.

Retrieving the API key from Mailchimp

Here is how you could retrieve your API keys from Mailchimp, Once you’ve got your API keys, go to Retainful.

Step 2: Adding API keys on the Retainful account

1. Login to your Retainful account. Click on the Integrations tab -> Mailchimp.

2. Paste the retrieved key on the API key field and click connect.

After successfully integrating Retainful with MailChimp, you can start setting up automation to engage with your customers. Follow these steps:

Step 3: Set Up Automation Blocks

1. Navigate to the Automation section in Retainful.

2. Choose any of the automation you want to integrate with Mailchimp to add customers to your Mailchimp list, then click Edit Flow.

3. It will take you to the automation workflow.

Select Add Block after the first email and choose Integration. Although you can set the integration at any stage, we recommend doing it after the first email.

Here’s why: If the block is added post-trigger, all customers, including those who might recover their carts within an hour, are added to the list. So, placing the block after the first email ensures that even customers who’ve still abandoned their carts will get into the list.

4. Click on the Integration block and choose Mailchimp to configure.

5. Select the Mailchimp list where you want to add your customers.

6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: Only one list can be added per block. If you need to add another list, you will need to create another block and add the list there.

That’s it, you’re done, you’ve successfully integrated Retainful with your MailChimp account.
