Products

The Products feature in Retainful allows you to organize your store’s product data into categories and feeds. It enables you to include static and dynamic product recommendations in your emails.

Before You Begin

Ensure that you connect your WooCommerce or Shopify store with Retainful. Product sync can be done only after your store is successfully connected.

Steps to Sync Your Products in Retainful

Step 1: Access the Products tab In your Retainful dashboard, select the Contents option and switch to the Products Page.

Step 2: Sync Your Store Products

Click the Sync Now button to start syncing your products. It is important to note that the product sync will only work if your store is already connected to Retainful.

Once your products are successfully synced, you can:

  • View all synced products under the Items tab.

  • Browse product categories in the Categories tab.

  • Create custom product feeds in the Feeds tab, which can be used in emails with dynamic product blocks.

Items

In the Items tab, you can view the product details like Item ID, product name, image, status when it was added, and last updated.

Categories

In the Categories tab, you can view all your product categories, category ID, and when each category was last updated.

Feeds

The Feeds feature lets you include dynamic product blocks in your automation and campaign emails.

Steps to Create Feeds in Retainful

Step 1: Access the Feeds tab

  • In your Retainful dashboard, select the Content menu and click on the Products page.

  • In the Products page, switch to the Feeds tab.

Content -> Products -> Feeds

Step 2: Create Your Feed

  • Click on the Create Feed button and provide a name for your custom feed.

  • Choose the type of products you want to display first to your customers, such as Newest, Best-selling, or Random products within a specific timeframe (e.g., the last 3 days).

Step 3: Add Filters (Optional)

You can set additional filters to include items in your feed. Click on the Filter button to add the filters.

Here is a table containing all the Filter options available for both Woocommerce and Shopify stores:

Enter the availability range of stocks.

For Shopify users, there are three additional filters you can use to refine your product feeds:

  • Metafield

  • Product Tag

  • Product Type

Step 4: Save Your Custom Feed

After you have created your custom feed, click on the Save Feed button to use it in your automation and campaign emails.

How to Use Feeds in Emails?

You can include these feeds in the dynamic product blocks in emails to display your products

Step 1: Open Your Template in Email Editor

  • For Campaigns:

    In your Retainful dashboard, go to Campaigns, select the campaign where you want to use the feed.

Under the Content section, click Edit Content.

For Automations: Navigate to Automation, choose the desired workflow

Click on the Email block, and then select Edit Email Content.

Step 2: Drag-and-Drop the Product Block

In the email editor, drag-and-drop the product block into your email template. To use the feeds, select the Dynamic option and choose the feed you want to display.

Step 3: Configure Your Product Block

You can customize the styles and choose what product details to display in the Styles section.

After you have configured your product block’s settings, click on the Save button to save your template.
