Learn how to use the Save as a template feature in Retainful email editor

Retainful allows you to create an email template and save it inside the email templates library. So, you can create an email template with your store logo, and email design that matches your brand and you can use it across all automation workflows in Retainful.

It lets you save time and set up an automation workflow very easily.

This guide explains how you can create an email template and save it in your Retainful email templates library.

Creating and Saving Email Template

Follow the below steps to create an email template and save it,

  1. Login to your Retainful dashboard

  2. Go to ‘Automations’ -> Create Workflow or Edit an existing workflow

  3. In the workflow builder, click on the ‘Email’ block (If you don’t have an email block, just click the ‘+’ icon and add an Email block to the workflow)

4. Click on the ‘Edit Email Content’ button on the right side

NOTE: When you create and save an abandoned cart recovery email template, it can be used on abandoned cart recovery workflows only. Similarly, a post purchase email template can be used on the post purchase workflows only.

The ‘Save as a template’ feature is not yet available for the Referral email notifications yet.

Now, you will be redirected to the drag and drop email editor.

You can customize the email template as per your preference. Especially, you may want to upload your logo, edit header texts and insert social media page links in the respective social media icons at the bottom.

Change logo: Click on the placeholder logo. On the right side of the panel, you will see the option to change the logo.

Add social media links: Click on the social media icon (for example, Facebook). On the ride side of the panel, you will find the option to enter your store’s Facebook page link.

Edit Email Content: You can just ‘Double click’ on the texts to edit them.

If you would like to reflect a specific set of content (texts, image) across all the email templates in your Retainful account. You can make those desired changes in this email template.

Once when you are done editing the email template, you can click on the ‘Save as a template’ button on the top to save the template in the library.

When you click on ‘Save as a template’, a widget will appear. You need to enter a name for the email template and click on the ‘Create’ button to save the email template.

Using a Saved Email Template

Now, let’s see how to use a saved abandoned cart recovery email template from the email templates library.

Follow the below steps to use a saved email template in your abandoned cart recovery email workflow,

  1. Login to your Retainful dashboard

  2. Go to ‘Automations’ -> Create Workflow or Edit an existing workflow

  3. In the workflow builder, click on the ‘Email’ block (If you don’t have an email block, just click the ‘+’ icon and add an Email block to the workflow)

In the email editor, click on the ‘Change template’ on the top left to go to the email templates library.

Now, click on ‘Your saved templates’ to find your saved email templates. You can select a template of your choice from the library.

You can find the selected email template in the editor. You can customize it as per your needs.
