Automation Trigger Settings

Learn how the trigger settings works in automation

An automation trigger is an initial input that kicks off the activation of an automated workflow. In a sense, an automation trigger is the first step in automation. Depending on your email marketing strategy, you can use automation triggers to start a sequence of emails or actions (or both!). We'll explain the use of each automation trigger and include examples to help you use them.

Trigger Setup

Flow Trigger:

This is where the customers will enter the workflow when they place a successful order with your store. And if you have set any rules or restrictions for the workflow then the customer would only enter the workflow if they meet or match the same. With the Trigger node, you have the possibility to set the Trigger rules, customer rules, and Exit rules. Let us see each rule here:

Trigger Rules:

To set the Trigger rule click on the Trigger node->Trigger Rules option on the right side->Add rule. Now the following rules would be listed: ‌

1. Order Total: If you wish to let the customer enter the workflow only based on the order total then you may choose this rule and select the condition you wish to imply like Order total is, is not, greater than or equal to or less than or equal to.

To set the Customer rule click on the Trigger node -> Customer Rules option on the right side -> Add rule. Now the following rules would be listed:

Exit Rules

The exit rule is exclusively available for Post purchase Automation Workflow. The rule helps you to restrict the user's exit based on orders placed either from the overall workflow or Since the start of the workflow. In case you do not set up the Exit rule then the customer would exit the workflow by going in through the entire workflow.

To set the Customer rule click on the Trigger node->Exit Rules option on the right side -> Add rule.

You can set up the exit rules based on the number of orders placed by the customer entirely or based on the number of orders placed by the customer since the start of the workflow.
