Learn how to use the trigger condition in the automation

In this article, you will learn how to set up automation workflows based on specific trigger conditions.

The trigger helps you to set up the conditions when a customer can enter into a workflow. Retainful comes with the most widely used trigger conditions to streamline your customers to target workflow and create personalized worklfow experience for them.

For example, if you have a multi-lingual store, you can create dedicated workflows for each language based on customer language preferences at your store. The automation comes with the most widely used trigger rules / conditions like language, order total, currency, product name, and more.

Set up process

To set up the trigger conditions for a workflow, just click on the ‘Trigger’ block, you can find the trigger settings on the right side.

Trigger rules

This allows you to set up trigger conditions for the automation workflow based on order / checkout info, language preference, and customer history. The trigger conditions can be order status, order total, currency, language, product name, and product ID.

For example, you can set the trigger rules as ‘Language is English’, so customers whose language preference is English (at your store) can only enter into the workflow.

You can set up multiple trigger rules in the workflow, customers will enter into the workflow as soon as they match the trigger rules.

Customer rules

This allows you to set up trigger conditions for the automation workflow based on customer information. The trigger properties can be email, name, country, and signed up.

For example, you can set the trigger rules as ‘Country is United States’, so customers who are from the United States (as per the checkout page) can only enter into the workflow.

You can set up multiple customer rules in the workflow, customers will enter into the workflow as soon as they match the customer rules.

It’s possible to create multiple workflows in Retainful, based on different trigger rules and customer rules to cover all segments of customers at your store.
